Valy was born in 1973 in Germany into a family of artists - his mother and grandmother are sculptors and graphic artists. Through his fathers work as an academic he received an open-minded education, and speaks four languages fluently. After studying in Hamburg for four years he graduated in illustration and painting. Valéry has worked for several years in Turin and London. He now lives and works in the south of France.
